Gravel Ronde-Vous & Campout Details
The second annual Gravel Ronde-Vous & Campout is happening Saturday July 5th & Sunday July 6th, 2025! Details are below, please reach out by email (wallowamountainsbicycleclub@gmail.com) or DM on social media or WhatsApp if you have any additional questions.
CAMPING / HANGING OUT
We’ll be camping at the Lick Creek Forest Service Station building accessed from Lick Creek Campground (or if riding from Salt Creek Summit, the 140 Rd paralleling the paved 39 Rd. From the entrance to Lick Creek Campground, drive through the campground, past the Dead End sign and open gate for about a ¼ mile. Dispersed camping will be at the second, or southern of the two buildings. Someone will be there by 9am on Saturday morning.
Option - some of us are planning on camping Friday night (July 4) as well to escape fireworks. Join in if you like!
WATER
Bring what you need for riding and camping. Lick Creek does run through the campground, but no tap water is available.
TOILETS
There is a vault toilet in the campground.
WHAT TO BRING
Food, water, sleeping and cooking kits. I’ll have a two burner running if folks need a stove. Camp chairs, musical instruments and games. We’ll have the super fun game of Molkey and horseshoes (there is a pit; or is it pitch?). Bugs may be out, bring bug spray!
BEER
TG will provide a couple cases. I think that should serve us all, but to be safe….bring a few extras, ciders or any other beverage of choice.
BIKE CHOICE
The ideal single bike would be a MTB hardtail, but any gravel, or MTB will do. Harl Butte possesses the best, smooth gravel, with a 2+ mile paved start and finish at Lick Creek Campground. The other routes are a bit more “chunky” in places that are fine on the climbs, but will require more caution and good line selection on the descents.
ENVIRONMENT
The National Weather Service is forecasting mid 70’s at our location for Saturday and Sunday. Bring plenty of water and sun protection.
ROUTES
Our routes will be between 20 and 30ish miles. We’ll discuss each morning. Jerry has some new ones up his sleeve. Some oldies will be in the mix as well.
